Nepal on Wednesday reported 123 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 977,199.

Similarly, four people tested positive in a total of 2,202 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.

As of Wednesday, 5,430,739 PCR and 1,067,242 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.

A total of 4,672 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.

Three people died from Covid-19-related infections in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry. The countrywide death toll has reached 11,941 since the pandemic began.

According to the ministry, 957,488 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 321 of them in the last 24 hours. The number of active cases stands at 7,770.

Kathmandu Valley recorded 30 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 18 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, eight in Lalitpur and four in Bhaktapur.

In the past 24 hours, 31 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 17 in Madhesh Pradesh, 41 in Bagmati, 19 in Gandaki, 11 in Lumbini, two in Karnali and none in Sudurpaschim.

According to the data released by the ministry, two districts are home to more than 500 active cases each, other eight districts host more than 200 active cases each.

On Wednesday, 68 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 10—eight in Bagmati and two in Province 1—were on ventilator support.

Nepal on Tuesday reported 92 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases and two deaths. Similarly, 119 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases and one death were recorded on Monday and 94 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases and one death were reported on Sunday.
