Nepal reports 849 new Covid-19 cases, 12 deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,192 and the number of active cases stands at 16,194.Post Report
Nepal on Wednesday reported 849 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 799,615.
Similarly, 194 people tested positive in a total of 4,300 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Wednesday, 4,256,803 PCR and 601,302 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 11,165 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 12 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,192. The number of active cases stands at 16,194.
According to the ministry, 772,229 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 891 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 440 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 344 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 61 in Lalitpur and 35 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 140 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 10 in Province 2, 511 in Bagmati, 94 in Gandaki, 54 in Lumbini, 14 in Karnali and 26 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, eight districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 19 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Wednesday, 338 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 115-39 in Province 1, 65 in Bagmati, two in Gandaki, six in Lumbini and three in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Tuesday reported 762 new coronavirus cases and six deaths. Similarly, 812 new coronavirus cases and 10 deaths were reported on Monday and 574 new coronavirus cases and seven deaths were reported on Sunday.
