Nepal reports 762 new Covid-19 cases, six deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,180 and the number of active cases stands at 16,248.Post Report
Nepal on Tuesday reported 762 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 798,766.
Similarly, 206 people tested positive in a total of 4,460 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Tuesday, 4,245,638 PCR and 597,002 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 11,582 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported six Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,180. The number of active cases stands at 16,248.
According to the ministry, 771,338 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 1,114 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 302 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 266 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 41 in Lalitpur and 30 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 165 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 26 in Province 2, 394 in Bagmati, 53 in Gandaki, 89 in Lumbini, 23 in Karnali and 12 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, eight districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 19 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Tuesday, 335 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 122-39 in Province 1, 68 in Bagmati, two in Gandaki, seven in Lumbini, one in Karnali and five in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Monday reported 812 new coronavirus cases and 10 deaths. Similarly, 574 new coronavirus cases and seven deaths were reported on Sunday and 659 new coronavirus cases and nine deaths were reported on Saturday.
