With 1,516 new cases, Nepal’s Covid-19 tally reaches 758,008
The Health Ministry reports 27 new deaths including figures from the past few days based on statistics from the Nepal Army.Post Report
Nepal on Saturday reported 1,516 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 758,008.
Similarly, 341 people tested positive in a total of 3,767 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Saturday, 3,886,878 PCR and 458,461 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 9,409 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 27 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 10,690. The number of active cases stands at 36,866.
According to the ministry, 710,452 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 2,222 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 549 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 370 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 112 in Lalitpur and 67 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 370 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 34 in Province 2, 738 in Bagmati, 212 in Gandaki, 101 in Lumbini, 56 in Karnali and 5 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, 20 districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 19 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Saturday, 615 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 174—48 in Province 1, 105 in Bagmati, eight in Gandaki, eight in Lumbini and five in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Friday reported 1,577 new coronavirus cases and 25 new deaths. Similarly, 2,052 new coronavirus cases and 26 new deaths were recorded on Thursday and 1,862 new coronavirus cases and 44 new deaths were recorded on Wednesday.
