Nepal on Saturday reported six more Covid-19-related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 1,870. The country also recorded 419 new cases.

The overall infection tally has reached 261,438 with 5,711 active cases.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 253,857 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; of them 750 in the past 24 hours.

Kathmandu Valley recorded 154 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 124 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 25 in Lalitpur and five in Bhaktapur.

As of Saturday, the number of confirmed cases in the Valley has reached 121,659. While Kathmandu has reported 473 Covid-19-related fatalities so far, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have recorded 146 and 106 deaths respectively.

According to the ministry, 933 individuals from Bagmati Province, 236 from Lumbini Province, 215 from Province 1, 214 from Province 2, 186 from Gandaki Province, 61 from Sudurpaschim Province, and 25 from Karnali Province have died of Covid-19 so far.

As of Saturday, 1,942,702 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.

A total of 5,000 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.

In the past 24 hours, 34 new infections were reported in Province 1, two in Province 2, and 189 in Bagmati Province.

Similarly, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces reported 62, 69, six and 57 cases respectively.

While Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases, Panchthar, Solukhumbu and Mugu districts do not have any active cases, according to the ministry.

While 218 individuals infected with the virus are being treated in intensive care units across the country, 36 others—18 in Bagmati Province, eight in Lumbini, four in Gandaki, three in Province 1, and one each in Province 2, Karnali and Sudurpaschim—are on ventilator support.

Nepal on Friday reported eight Covid-19-related deaths and 426 new cases. Similarly, nine deaths and 534 new cases were recorded in the country on Thursday and seven deaths and 511 new infections on Wednesday.
