Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 1,847 with seven more deaths; national tally reaches 260,059 with 511 new infections

Nepal on Wednesday reported seven more Covid-19-related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 1,847. The country also recorded 511 new cases.
The overall infection tally has reached 260,059 with 6,300 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 251,912 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; of them 600 in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 312 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 225 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 49 in Lalitpur and 38 in Bhaktapur.
As of Wednesday, the number of confirmed cases in the Valley has reached 121,091. While Kathmandu has reported 470 Covid-19-related fatalities so far, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have recorded 146 and 101 deaths respectively.
According to the ministry, 920 individuals from Bagmati Province, 231 from Lumbini Province, 215 from Province 1, 212 from Province 2, 184 from Gandaki Province, 60 from Sudurpaschim Province, and 25 from Karnali Province have died of Covid-19 so far.
As of Wednesday day, 1,926,477 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 5,110 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
In the past 24 hours, 24 new infections were reported in Province 1, two in Province 2, and 388 in Bagmati Province.
Similarly, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces reported 46, 47, and four cases respectively.
While Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Siraha, Mugu and Rukum (West) do not have any active cases, according to the ministry.
While 217 individuals infected with the virus are being treated in intensive care units across the country, 37 others—19 in Bagmati Province, five each in Lumbini and Gandaki, two each in Province 1, Province 2, Karnali and Sudurpaschim—are on ventilator support.
Nepal on Tuesday reported eight more Covid-19- related fatalities and 708 new cases. On Monday, the country reported seven more Covid-19-related deaths and 659 new cases. Similarly, six more Covid-19 related deaths and 481 new infections on Sunday and 500 new infections were recorded on Saturday.
