Nepal on Thursday reported six more Covid-19-related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 1,749. The country also recorded 776 new cases.

The overall infection tally has reached 251,692 with 9,580 active cases.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 240,363 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; of them 947 in the past 24 hours.

Kathmandu Valley recorded 363 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 273 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 49 in Lalitpur and 41 in Bhaktapur.

As of Thursday, the number of confirmed cases in the Valley has reached 117, 305. While Kathmandu has reported 452 Covid-19-related fatalities so far, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have recorded 139 and 97 deaths respectively.

According to the ministry, 884 individuals from Bagmati Province, 222 from Lumbini Province, 210 from Province 1, 208 from Province 2, 150 from Gandaki Province, 51 from Sudurpaschim Province, and 24 from Karnali Province have died of Covid-19 so far.

As of Thursday, 1,855,724 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.

A total of 6,588 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.

In the past 24 hours, 68 new infections were reported in Province 1, seven in Province 2, and 419 in Bagmati Province.

Similarly, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces reported 90, 79, 16 and 97 cases respectively.

Three districts—Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Kaski—have more than 500 active cases. Manang does not have any active case, according to the ministry.

While 281 individuals infected with the virus are being treated in intensive care units across the country, 59 others—27 in Bagmati Province, 12 in Gandaki, seven in Province 1, five in Karnali, four in Lumbini, and two each in Province 2 and Sudurpaschim—are on ventilator support.

Nepal on Wednesday reported 13 Covid-19-related deaths and 736 new infections. Similarly, 14 deaths and 936 new cases were recorded in the country on Tuesday and 18 deaths and 821 new cases on Monday.
