Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 1,743 with 13 more deaths; national tally reaches 250,916 with 736 new infections
With individuals 239,416 discharged after successful recovery, the active case count stands at 9,757, according to the Health Ministry.Post Report
Nepal on Wednesday reported 14 more Covid-19-related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 1,743. The country also recorded 736 new cases.
The overall infection tally has reached 250,916 with 9,757 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 239,416 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; of them 847 in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 391 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 294 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 77 in Lalitpur and 20 in Bhaktapur.
As of Wednesday, the number of confirmed cases in the Valley has reached 116,942. While Kathmandu has reported 450 Covid-19-related fatalities so far, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have recorded 137 and 97 deaths respectively.
According to the ministry, individuals from 879 Bagmati Province, 222 from Lumbini Province, 210 from Province 1, 208 from Province 2, 149 from Gandaki Province, 51 from Sudurpaschim Province, and 24 from Karnali Province have died of Covid-19 so far.
As of Wednesday, 1,849,136 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 5,555 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
In the past 24 hours, new infections were reported in 41 Province 1, 20 in Province 2, and 517 in Bagmati Province.
Similarly, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces reported 51, 75, two and 30 cases respectively.
Three districts—Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Kaski—have more than 500 active cases. Manang does not have any active case, according to the ministry.
While 289 individuals infected with the virus are being treated in intensive care units across the country, 59 others—25 in Bagmati Province, 13 in Gandaki, four in Karnali, six in Lumbini, two each in Sudurpaschim and Province 2 and seven in Province 1—are on ventilator support.
Nepal on Tuesday reported 14 Covid-19-related deaths and 936 new cases. The country had reported 18 Covid-19-related fatalities and 821 new cases on Monday. While nine Covid-19-related fatalities and 830 new cases were recorded on Sunday.
