Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 1,730 with 14 more deaths; national tally reaches 250,180 with 936 new infections
With 238,569 individuals discharged after successful recovery, the active case count stands at 9,881, according to the Health Ministry.Post Report
Nepal on Tuesday reported 14 more Covid-19-related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 1,730. The country also recorded 936 new cases.
The overall infection tally has reached 250,180 with 9,881 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 238,569 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 1,996 of them in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 438 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 310 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 86 in Lalitpur and 42 in Bhaktapur.
As of Tuesday, the number of confirmed cases in the Valley has reached 116,551. While Kathmandu has reported 447 Covid-19-related fatalities so far, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have recorded 137 and 97 deaths respectively.
According to the ministry, 876 individuals from Bagmati Province, 222 from Lumbini Province, 210 from Province 1, 207 from Province 2, 140 from Gandaki Province, 51 from Sudurpaschim Province, and 24 from Karnali Province have died of Covid-19 so far.
As of Tuesday, 1,843,581 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 7,117 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
In the past 24 hours, 110 new infections were reported in Province 1, nine in Province 2, and 524 in Bagmati Province.
Similarly, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces reported 113, 101, 12 and 67 cases respectively.
Three districts—Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Kaski—have more than 500 active cases. Manang does not have any active case, according to the ministry.
While 321 individuals infected with the virus are being treated in intensive care units across the country, 48 others—26 in Bagmati Province, eight in Gandaki, four each in Lumbini and Karnali, three in Sudurpaschim, two in Province 2 and one in Province 1—are on ventilator support.
Nepal on Monday reported 18 Covid-19-related deaths and 821 new cases. The country had reported nine Covid-19-related fatalities and 830 new cases on Sunday. While 15 Covid-19-related fatalities and 899 new cases were reported on Saturday.
