Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 1,716 with 18 more deaths; national tally reaches 249,244 with 821 new infections
With 236,573 individuals discharged after successful recovery, the active case count stands at 10,955, according to the Health Ministry.Post Report
Nepal on Monday reported 18 more Covid-19-related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 1,716 . The country also recorded 821 new cases.
The overall infection tally has reached 249,244 with 10,955 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 236,573 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 842 of them in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 333 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 246 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 53 in Lalitpur and 34 in Bhaktapur.
As of Monday, the number of confirmed cases in the Valley has reached 116,113. While Kathmandu has reported 446 Covid-19-related fatalities so far, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have recorded 134 and 97 deaths respectively.
According to the ministry, 871 individuals from Bagmati Province, 222 from Lumbini Province, 210 from Province 1, 207 from Province 2, 132 from Gandaki Province, 50 from Sudurpaschim Province, and 24 from Karnali Province have died of Covid-19 so far.
As of Monday, 1,836,464 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 5,423 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
In the past 24 hours, 134 new infections were reported in Province 1, 15 in Province 2, and 394 in Bagmati Province.
Similarly, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces reported 95, 103 and 75 cases respectively. Karnali province did not record any cases today.
Three districts—Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Kaski—have more than 500 active cases. Manang does not have any active case, according to the ministry.
While 273 individuals infected with the virus are being treated in intensive care units across the country, 54 others—30 in Bagmati Province, 10 in Gandaki, four in Karnali, three each in Province 1, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim and one in Province 2—are on ventilator support.
Nepal on Sunday reported nine more Covid-19-related fatalities and 830 new cases. The country on Saturday had reported 15 more Covid-19-related fatalities and 899 new cases. Similarly, 11 Covid-19-related deaths and 1,044 new infections were recorded on Friday while 12 deaths and 1,217 new infections were recorded in the country on Thursday.
