Nepal on Thursday reported 12 more Covid-19-related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 1,663. The country also recorded 1,217 new cases.

The overall infection tally has reached 245,650 with 12,386 active cases.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 231,601 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 1,064 of them in the past 24 hours.

Kathmandu Valley recorded 404 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 328 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 51 in Lalitpur and 25 in Bhaktapur.

As of Thursday, the number of confirmed cases in the Valley has reached 114,409 While Kathmandu has reported 432 Covid-19-related fatalities so far, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have recorded 129 and 97 deaths respectively.

According to the ministry, 850 individuals from Bagmati Province, 217 from Lumbini Province, 204 from Province 2, 203 from Province 1, 119 from Gandaki Province, 46 from Sudurpaschim Province, and 24 from Karnali Province have died of Covid-19 so far.

As of Thursday, 1,813,204 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.

A total of 7,232 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.

In the past 24 hours, 196 new infections were reported in Province 1, 43 in Province 2, and 464 in Bagmati Province.

Similarly, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces reported 118, 183, five and 208 cases respectively.

Three districts—Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Kaski—have more than 500 active cases. Manang and Dolpa districts do not have any active case, according to the ministry.

While 309 individuals infected with the virus are being treated in intensive care units across the country, 57 others— 36 in Bagmati Province, eight in Gandaki, six in Province 1, three in Lumbini, and two each in Province 2 and Sudurpaschim province—are on ventilator support.

Nepal on Wednesday reported 14 Covid-19-related deaths and 1,056 new infections. Similarly, 23 Covid-19-related fatalities and 1,382 new cases were recorded in the country on Tuesday and 20 deaths and 1,014 new infections on Monday.
