Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 1,651 with 14 more deaths; national tally reaches 244,433 with 1,056 new infections
With 230,236 individuals discharged after successful recovery, the active case count stands at 12,245, according to the Health Ministry.Post Report
Nepal on Wednesday reported 14 more Covid-19-related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 1,651. The country also recorded 1,056 new cases.
The overall infection tally has reached 244,433 with 12,245 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 230,236 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, with 1,483 of them in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 507 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 393 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 75 in Lalitpur and 39 in Bhaktapur.
As of Wednesday, the number of confirmed cases in the Valley has reached 114,005 While Kathmandu has reported 428 Covid-19-related fatalities so far, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have recorded 128 and 96 deaths respectively.
According to the ministry, 843 individuals from Bagmati Province, 217 from Lumbini Province, 204 from Province 2, 201 from Province 1, 117 from Gandaki Province, 45 from Sudurpaschim Province, and 24 from Karnali Province have died of Covid-19 so far.
As of Wednesday, 1,805,972 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 6,286 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
In the past 24 hours, 78 new infections were reported in Province 1, 7 in Province 2, and 705 in Bagmati Province.
Similarly, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces reported 89, 17, seven and 73 cases respectively.
Three districts—Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Kaski—have more than 500 active cases. Manang and Dolpa districts do not have any active case, according to the ministry.
While 330 individuals infected with the virus are being treated in intensive care units across the country, 57 others— 35 in Bagmati Province, nine in Gandaki, five in Province 1, four in Lumbini, two each in Karnali and Sudurpaschim province—are on ventilator support.
Nepal on Tuesday reported 23 more Covid-19-related fatalities and 1,382 new cases. The country on Monday reported 20 Covid-19-related deaths and 1,014 new infections. Similarly, 17 deaths and 1,096 new cases were recorded in the country on Sunday and 10 Covid-19-related deaths and 1,024 new infections on Saturday.
