Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 1,637 with 23 more deaths; national tally reaches 243,377 with 1,382 new infections
With 229,054 individuals discharged after successful recovery, the active case count stands at 12,686, according to the Health Ministry.Post Report
Nepal on Tuesday reported 23 more Covid-19-related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 1,637. The country also recorded 1,382 new cases.
The overall infection tally has reached 243,377 with 12,686 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 229,054 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, with 1,621 of them in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 594 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 412 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 113 in Lalitpur and 69 in Bhaktapur.
As of Tuesday, the number of confirmed cases in the Valley has reached 113,498. While Kathmandu has reported 424 Covid-19-related fatalities so far, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have recorded 125 and 96 deaths respectively.
According to the ministry, 835 individuals from Bagmati Province, 215 from Lumbini Province, 204 from Province 2, 201 from Province 1, 113 from Gandaki Province, 45 from Sudurpaschim Province, and 24 from Karnali Province have died of Covid-19 so far.
As of Tuesday, 1,799,686 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 8,947 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
In the past 24 hours, 183 new infections were reported in Province 1, 25 in Province 2, and 731 in Bagmati Province.
Similarly, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces reported 162, 158, eight and 115 cases respectively.
Three districts—Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Kaski—have more than 500 active cases. Manang and Dolpa districts do not have any active case, according to the ministry.
While 354 individuals infected with the virus are being treated in intensive care units across the country, 58 others— 38 in Bagmati Province, eight in Gandaki, six in Province 1, two each in Province 2, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Province—are on ventilator support.
Nepal on Monday reported 20 more Covid-19-related fatalities and 1,014 new cases. The country on Sunday reported 17 Covid-19-related deaths and 1,096 new infections. Similarly, 10 deaths and 1,024 new cases were recorded in the country on Saturday and 16 Covid-19-related deaths and 1,272 new infections on Friday.
