Personal stories, public canvas
Nine artists reflect on transformation and memory through mixed media at Gallery Mcube.
Post Report
Gallery Mcube is hosting the Mcube Young Artist Show 2025, an annual platform spotlighting emerging voices in Nepal’s contemporary art scene. The ongoing exhibition features the works of nine artists, each exploring themes of culture, identity, memory, and societal transformation through diverse mediums including painting, sculpture, performance, installation, and multimedia. The show runs until June 21 and is open from 10 am to 7 pm.
The exhibit traverses a wide range of disciplines—painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography, performance, installation, and multimedia—highlighting the depth and innovation of Nepal’s emerging generation of artists.
Curator Manish Lal Shrestha describes the show as a space for layered reflection. “Each of these artists reveals a profound connection to personal and collective histories,” he says. “Their work speaks to the intricacies of culture, language, migration, memory, and identity with both urgency and nuance. This exhibition isn’t just a presentation—it’s an invitation into an unfolding dialogue.”
Gallery Mcube will offer a fully funded three-month residency to two participating artists—one male and one female. The residency includes studio space, mentorship, and access to gallery facilities, providing an encouraging environment for the artists to further develop their practice.
