Botanical painting classes at Kathmandu Art Gallery

Kathmandu Art Gallery is hosting a 10-Day Botanical Painting Class with Neera Joshi Pradhan, a Nepali botanical artist, trained in the United States and the United Kingdom. With over 20 years of experience illustrating and documenting Nepal’s flora, her work balances scientific accuracy with the spiritual essence of nature.
The workshop, held at the gallery’s premises in Baber Mahal Revisited, runs from December 16 to January 18, 2026. The fee is Rs3,000, and sessions take place every Sunday and Tuesday from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.
According to the gallery, the workshop is ideal for beginners and enthusiasts seeking a guided introduction to botanical illustration, watercolour layering, form-building, and the completion of a final botanical artwork.
The gallery will provide tables, chairs, and boards, while students will need to bring their own palettes, watercolour paints, brushes, pencils, erasers, tape, and watercolour paper.
