A decade of work on display in ‘Contours of Two’
Artists Kapil Mani Dixit and Roshan Bhandari reflect on memory and nostalgia.Post Report
‘Contours of Two’ opened at the Music Art Gallery in Sanepa on February 21. The show features works by artists Kapil Mani Dixit and Roshan Bhandari and will run until March 21.
The month-long exhibition traces, as the artists describe, a decade-long journey of visual storytelling. Through their paintings, the two artists reflect on memory, nostalgia and the connection between past and present experiences.
Although their styles are different, both artists explore human emotions and social pressures. Their works focus on mixed feelings, silence and the hidden struggles people carry in everyday life.
Dixit uses bold lines and strong, raw colours in his paintings. His figures often appear expressive and direct, showing lived realities and emotional intensity.
Bhandari, on the other hand, works mainly with abstraction. He uses strong brushstrokes and flowing colours to create immersive images. His paintings suggest inner emotions and personal reflection rather than clear figures.
The exhibit includes some of their earliest works as well as recent pieces. Together, the artworks show how their styles and ideas have grown over time.
