Paper takes shape as architecture and memory
Russian multidisciplinary artist Liudmila Rozvodovskaya presents a new body of work inspired by her research and residency in Nepal.Shrinkhala Chand Thakuri
Russian multidisciplinary artist Liudmila Rozvodovskaya is presenting ‘Paper House: Creation Part II’, a solo exhibition at Siddhartha Art Gallery (SAG), opening on June 30.
The exhibit is the second chapter of Rozvodovskaya’s ‘Expedition Route’ research project in Nepal. Following an earlier presentation at Patan Museum, this new exhibit shifts from research and material investigation towards artistic creation.
‘Paper House: Creation Part II’ explores paper as a medium of architecture, memory, light and spatial experience. Through sculptural installations, experimental objects and light-based works, Rozvodovskaya examines the relationship between materiality and perception.
Drawing inspiration from Nepal’s traditional craftsmanship and built environment, the exhibit transforms paper into immersive forms that evoke ideas of shelter, heritage and belonging.

The exhibition includes sculptural works exploring the intersection of art and design; experimental paper constructions and material studies; light sculptures inspired by architectural forms and traditional structures; and installations developed during the artist’s residency and research in Nepal.
Rozvodovskaya is a multidisciplinary artist, researcher and designer based in Saint Petersburg, Russia. With more than 20 years of experience in interior design, her practice explores the relationships between space, material, light and sensory perception.
The artist will be present at the opening reception on June 30 at 5:30 pm.
