‘Katha-Ek’ explores ‘emotional journey of a couple’ at Mandala Theatre

Katha-Ek, a new play delving into the complexities of relationships, is currently being performed at Mandala Theatre, Kathmandu. The production marks the directorial debut of Anup Neupane.
Co-written by Neupane and Pream Shilwal Bishwakarma—both first-time playwrights—the play captures the emotional arc of a couple navigating confusion, sacrifice, compromise, and realisation.
According to assistant director Milan Karki, the cast features Bedana Rai, Pream Shilwal Bishwakarma, Milan Karki, Samyog Guragain, Sanam Shrestha, Kristina Basnet, and Ajay Karki. The production includes live music by Sagar Khati Kami and Puran Diyali, with lighting design by Sumitra Pehim.
Katha-Ek will run until May 11, with performances every day except Mondays at 6:30 pm. Additional shows are held at 4:00 pm on Fridays and Sundays, and at 3:00 pm on Saturdays.
