Post Report
To promote a cultural renaissance, Sanskritik Sansthan is organising ‘Shubharambha Sanskritik Saajh 2082’ today in collaboration with the Department of National ID and Civil Registration, with support from the Nepal Tourism Board and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The event starts at 4:00 pm in the Mega Hall of Sanskritik Sansthan in Jamal, Kathmandu. A significant highlight will be the staging of the musical play ‘Munamadan’, written by Laxmi Prasad Devkota. This play had remained unperformed for many years due to the absence of audio materials. However, with the efforts of Kiran Babu Pun, the general manager of Sanskritik Sansthan, these audio materials have been retrieved, allowing for its revival and performance again.
The play will be directed by Sanskritik Sansthan’s current staff member, Maya Thapa, with Sushila Thapa playing Muna and Bipin Ghimire as Madan, supported by other in-house artists and staff.
Alongside ‘Munamadan’, the event will also feature the inauguration of ‘Nepali Sanskriti’, a programme representing the intangible cultural heritage of Nepal’s seven provinces.
Furthermore, preparations are underway to present this cultural renaissance initiative, including the musical play and the ‘Nepali Sanskriti’ programme across all seven provinces. “Raising awareness of Nepali culture and identity is a key goal of this event,” says Pun.
