Generally cloudy conditions are expected across Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces on Sunday, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

The division said hilly and mountainous regions of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces will also remain mostly cloudy, while other areas are likely to see partly cloudy skies.

There is a possibility of light rain or snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at a few places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces. Similar conditions may occur at one or two places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Karnali and Sudurpashchim.

During the night, generally cloudy conditions are expected over the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, and the hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpashchim. Other areas will remain partly cloudy.

Light rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning is likely at a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki, and at one or two places in similar regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Lumbini provinces.

According to the division, Nepal is currently under the partial influence of a high-pressure system in the upper atmosphere and a low-pressure area in the lower atmosphere near the eastern region of the country.
