Ratna Park to have additional facilities

Authorities have announced to expand wi-fi network and its speed and construct two shade houses.
Harisharan KC, chief a Kathmandu Metropolitan City unit which looks after Ratna Park and Ranipokhari, said the additional facilities will attract more visitors.
After the installation of free wi-fi in February last year, the number of visitors to Ratna Park has increased to more than 1,000 a day, according to KMC officials.
Earlier on an average, 800 visitors used to visit the park which now sees around 1,300 people. KC said that on an average, the park earns around Rs 28,000 per day.
According to KC, next year onwards, the wi-fi capacity would be strengthened so that more than 1,000 people can simultaneously use the facility.
KMC charges Rs 25 and Rs 15 as entry fee for adults and students respectively, while the entry to the park is free for the elderly, children and differently-abled people.
Ratna Park, which is spread over 42 ropanis of land, has undergone a facelift with an investment of Rs 8 million. It was established in 1964.
