The haphazard advertisements, graffiti, posters pasted on walls and power poles, leaflets and pamphlets and the like have been creating a visual pollution in the city, says the petition filed by advocate Padam Bahadur Shrestha.
In the petition, Shrestha has also charged the Kathmandu Municipal Corporation of not carrying out its duties of keeping the capital free of pollution and called for a mandamus order from the apex court against the defendants.
KMC, Department of Environment and Management, Ministry of Science and Environment, Urban Development Ministry, Home Ministry, Ministry of Local Development and the Kathmandu District Administration Office have been named as defendants in the case.
