A 45-year-old woman was killed when an elephant attacked her home in ward 14 of Bhimdatta Municipality, Kanchanpur, police said.
According to authorities, Dhana Bista died on Monday night after the elephant, which had entered from Shuklaphanta National Park, broke through the walls of her house.
The animal attacked Bista as she tried to escape. Others in the household managed to flee and survived, Deputy Superintendent of Police Sagar Bohara said.
