A 38-year-old man was injured in an attack by a leopard in ward 3 of Melauli Municipality of Baitadi district on Monday.

Ganesh Singh Bhat was attacked by the leopard in the Kolakhola area, according to ward 3 chairman Gagan Singh Bhat.

The victim, who went to the area to herd goats, managed to escape after retaliating against the beast with a sickle.

Ganesh was sent to Patan Primary Health Centre for treatment, said police.
