Sukra Bahadur Rai clinched the Surya Nepal Golf Tour NPGA Qualifying School at the par-68 Royal Nepal Golf Club on Friday.
Rai carded five-over 73 in the third and final round for a total score of five-over 209. Rai earned the pro card and is eligible to compete in the Surya Nepal Golf Tour events. But the golfer had applied to hold his pro-card until further notice and opted to continue playing as an amateur golfer.
Tanka Bahadur Karki, Shiva Kumar Majhi and Kamal Tamang also earned the pro card after surviving the 15-over total score after three rounds. Like Rai, Karki and Majhi also notified to put on hold their pro cards so as to continue as amateurs. Tamang, however, is set to start as a professional golfer in the Surya Nepal Golf Tour.
