The BP Highway will remain closed to nighttime traffic until August 30.

 Initially imposed until July 16, the restriction has been extended until August.

According to the District Administration Office, Kavre, the highway will be closed for passenger and private vehicles from 5pm to 5am.

Assistant Chief District Officer Sudarshan Shrestha said the closure is due to high-risk conditions along sections from Kavrebhanyang to Khurkot, Sindhuli. The highway was in ruins following last year’s floods and landslide.
