Madhesh lawmakers resort to vandalism in provincial assembly

Madhesh provincial assembly members on Tuesday resorted to vandalism within the assembly hall.
Lawmakers of the Janamat Party and the Nepali Congress resorted to vandalism during a meeting that was called for Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav to undergo a floor test.
They have accused Speaker Ramchandra Mandal of taking ahead the proceeding forcefully.
Speaker Mandal postponed the meeting for ten minutes after the incident.
Earlier, the meeting was adjourned after the Janamat Party obstructed the meeting demanding the formation of a parliamentary committee to investigate the Rajbiraj incident in which leaders and cadres of the party were injured.
On January 23, the CK Raut-led Party withdrew its support to the Madhesh government and recalled its two provincial ministers following a dispute over the foundation-laying function for a university in Saptari.
Tensions between the two prominent Madhesh-based parties–Janata Samajbadi Party and Janamat Party–escalated dramatically during the foundation-laying function at the Madhesh Agriculture University in Rajbiraj on January 22.
