The body of a girl who was raped and murdered in Simara was cremated on Sunday, the day after her parents reached a three-point agreement with the government over the case.
The girl’s parents collected her body from the Kalaiya Provincial Hospital before performing the final rites according to religious and social traditions at the banks of the Pasaha Khola in Baghwan, Kalaiya Sub-Metropolitan City-14.
Her father lit the funeral pyre.
The cremation was held under tight security, with Bara chief district officer Dharmendra Kumar Mishra among those present.
The girl had gone missing from her home on August 16. Her body was found in a mutilated condition on Tuesday evening.
