Fire destroyed four thatched-roof houses belonging to Munna Nata in Chamaritol in ward 1 of Jirabhawani Rural Municipality in Parsa district.
Security personnel and the locals doused the fire with the help of a fire engine that had arrived from Birgunj.
According to the victims, food grain, clothes and valuables were destroyed in the fire. It is suspected that the fire was caused by an electric short circuit.
