A 32-year-old man killed his father following a domestic dispute late Thursday night.

According to the police, the accused Prakash Rai of Chandrapur Municipality-3 attacked his 55-year-old father on the head with a wooden plank.

The victim, who sustained serious injuries to the head and face was immediately rushed to the Chandrapur-based Chandrapur Hospital, where he succumbed to injuries.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Santu Prasad Jaiswal of the District Police Office, Rai was found to be in an inebriated state at the time of the incident. The reason behind the attack is still unknown, said Jaiswal.

Jaiswal informed that the accused had been arrested, and further investigation into the matter is underway.

The victim’s body has been sent for postmortem at the Chandrapur Hospital, police said.
