President Ramchandra Paudel returned to Nepal on Thursday after completing his official visit to Doha, Qatar, where he led the Nepali delegation to the Second World Summit for Social Development.
Paudel departed for Doha on November 3 to participate in the summit, which focused on advancing global social progress and renewing commitments made during the first World Summit for Social Development held in Copenhagen in 1995.
During his visit, President Paudel addressed the main session of the summit and held meetings with Qatar’s Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
The summit, jointly organised by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) and the Government of Qatar, brought together heads of state and government from around the world to discuss key issues such as inequality, demographic change, and the social impacts of technology.
