Death toll from New Baneshwar clash reaches six
Four die at National Trauma Centre, two at Civil Hospital.

The death toll from violent clashes between demonstrators and police in New Baneshwar on Monday has climbed to six after five other injured protesters succumbed to injuries while receiving treatment at Civil Hospital and National Trauma Centre.
One protester had died earlier in the day at Civil Hospital, Baneshwar.
Two people receiving treatment at Civil Hospital died while undergoing treatment, said Mohan Chandra Regmi, executive director of the hospital. They sustained injuries during the protest outside the Federal Parliament building in Baneshwar.
A doctor at the Trauma Centre told the Post that four protesters died while undergoing treatment at the hospital after being hurt during the protest in Baneshwar. Ten other demonstrators who have serious bullet injuries in their heads and chests are receiving treatment at the hospital, according to him.
Dozens of injured demonstrators were rushed to Civil Hospital, Everest Hospital, Trauma Centre and other health facilities.
The situation escalated after protesters breached the restricted zone and entered the Parliament premises. Police responded with water cannons, tear gas and live ammunition, leaving many injured.
The Gen Z protesters have taken to the streets demanding an end to corruption and the lifting of the government’s ban on social media platforms.
Following the violent clashes, the Kathmandu District Administration Office imposed a curfew in several parts of the Capital. Demonstrations have also spread to other major cities across the country.
