Ninety-five people have been confirmed dead, and dozens remain missing after a flash flood swept through Rasuwa and neighbouring districts on Wednesday, disrupting communications and hampering rescue efforts.

According to the statement issued by the Office of the Prime Minister, 95 bodies have been recovered from the flood-affected areas. The identification of the deceased, however, is yet to be completed.

Eighty-five security personnel, including 44 from Nepali Army, 28 from Nepal Police, and 13 from Armed Police Force, are also missing in the flood. Search and rescue teams have been deployed across the affected areas.

Sixty people associated with various hydropower projects are out of contact, the prime minister's office said.

Likewise, 391 foreign and 93 domestic tourists are out of contact. The flood has damaged 19 motorable bridges and forty kilometres road-stretch.
