The body of an unidentified man, believed to be in his 30s, was found on the banks of the Tamor River, bordering Phidim Municipality in Panchthar and Chhathar Rural Municipality in Tehrathum.

Locals discovered the body lying face-up on a sand mound on Wednesday and alerted the Nawa Khola Police Post.

A team from the post, along with officers from the Panchthar District Police Office, recovered the body and sent it to Panchthar District Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Police Inspector Binlal Sah, the information officer at the District Police Office, Tehrathum, said efforts are underway to identify the deceased.
