A Nepali citizen, who was lured by the promise of attractive employment in Laos and forced into illegal work, has been repatriated to Nepal with the assistance of Thai authorities.
The man, who had fled to Thailand, was sent back to Nepal on Friday, the Nepali Embassy in Bangkok said in a statement.
The embassy has urged Nepalis to adhere to legal guidelines and seek foreign employment only with valid labour permits. The embassy has cautioned against falling for the temptation of lucrative jobs in countries, including Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand, urging Nepali nationals to avoid illegal work practices.
