Speaker Devraj Ghimire attends IPTP conference in Cambodia

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Devraj Ghimire, has reached Cambodia to attend the 11th meeting of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP).
According to Shekhar Adhikari, press advisor to Speaker Ghimire, the head of the lower house was welcomed at Phnom Penh International Airport by senior Cambodian parliamentary officials.
The conference, held from November 23 to 26 in Phnom Penh, focuses on the theme ‘The Quest for Peace, Reconciliation, and Tolerance’. Discussions will emphasise strengthening multilateralism and partnerships to build structures for peace, reconciliation, tolerance, and inclusive relations between governments, parliaments, and civil society.
The Nepali delegation includes Member of Parliament Ishwar Bahadur Rijal, Chief Personal Secretary to the Speaker Tej Prakash Bhattarai, and Gopal Sigdel, under secretary at the parliament secretariat. Lawmaker Eknath Dhakal, currently in Cambodia, will also participate in the conference.
Besides addressing the meeting he will hold discussions with delegations from Cambodia, the UAE, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Laos during the visit.
The Nepali delegation is set to return to Nepal on November 26.
