Monsoon-induced disasters take lives of 128, over 3,000 families displaced
The incidents injured 147 people, damaged houses and other structures across the country since June 10.

At least 128 people lost their lives and over 3,000 families have been displaced by monsoon-induced disasters across the country in the past six weeks.
According to the Nepal Police Headquarters, rain-triggered disasters like landslides and floods have claimed the lives of 128 people and injured 147 this monsoon season which began on June 10.
The death toll from the disasters stands at 38 in Gandaki Provine, 23 in Lumbini, 22 each in Koshi and Bagmati, nine in Sudurpaschim, seven in Lumbini and five in Madhesh Province, said Deputy Inspector General of Police Dan Bahadur Karki. Of the 128, two were from the Kathmandu Valley.
Floods have rendered 182 houses uninhabitable while 228 homes, 83 cattle sheds, 43 bridges, two government offices and a school have also been damaged.
During this period, 3,779 families have also been displaced.
