Surkhet
Landslides triggered by heavy rainfall have blocked the Karnali Highway, specifically in the stretch between Dahikhola and Kalikhola, affecting the Dailekh-Kalikot section.
According to the Dailekh District Police Office, traffic has come to a complete standstill. Deputy Superintendent of Police Sunil Neupane, the Dailekh Police chief, said multiple landslides have been reported in the Paduka-Sangetada stretch of the road in Dailekh as well.
Security personnel and excavators are currently working to clear the debris and reopen the highway. The obstruction has left travellers heading from Surkhet to Jumla and Kalikot stranded.
