The CPN (Maoist Centre) on Friday inducted 22 women into the central committee.
The party said the new members were nominated to ensure 33 percent representation of women in the central committee.
With the addition of the new members, the party’s central committee is now 407-strong.
On Wednesday, Maoist Centre chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal, during the ongoing central committee meeting, tabled a proposal for inducting new members. All the newly-nominated members joined the ongoing meeting today.
The central committee plenum of the CPN (Maoist Centre) began in Kathmandu on Wednesday. More than 700 leaders are participating in the gathering of the ruling CPN (Maoist Centre) who are discussing ways to strengthen the party.
