Rastriya Swatantra Party President Rabi Lamichhane is leading in Chitwan-2 as per the latest vote counting update.
As of 3:45pm on Monday, Lamichhane has received 1,155 votes.
Ram Prasad Neupane of the CPN-UML is trailing behind Lamichhane garnering 665 votes.
Jit Narayan Shrestha of the Nepali Congress is third in the race with 588 votes.
Lamichhane was elected from the constituency in last year’s polls defeating his closest rival Umesh Shrestha of Congress by a margin of 34,170 votes.
The by-election was held in the constituency after Supreme Court annulled his lawmaker status over his citizenship certificate.
