At least three Nepalis died when a bus en route to Tikapur of Kailali from the Indian state of Gujarat met with an accident in Lucknow, India on Sunday night.

According to Bhupendra Saud, a local resident of Tikapur travelling in the bus, the identification of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.

Scores of passengers are said to be injured in the mishap. A total of 60 passengers were travelling in the bus when it met with an accident some 30 km away from Lucknow, the capital city of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

Indian buses operate to Tikapur carrying Nepalis from Gujarat, Surat and other regions of India.

Bed Prakash Joshi, spokesperson of District Police Office Kailali, said that although unofficial information has been received about the accident, they are yet to verify details.
