Three people died and another person was seriously injured in a road accident that took place in Khotang on Sunday.

According to the police, the tractor (Ko 2 Ta 5660) en route to Nirmali from Diktel fell some 200 metres down the road at Kali Khola in Nepra of Rupakot Majhuwagadi Municiaplity-6 at around 3am this morning killing Micheal Rai, 21, and Min Prasad Luintel, 36, of Nirmalidanda in ward no. 9 of Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality-9 and Khem Raj Bhujel, 19, of ward no. 7 in the same municipality.

According to DSP at the district police office, Khotang Raj Kumar KC, Durga Bahadur Luintel, 21, of Nirmalidanda was seriously injured in the accident and is being taken to Kathmandu for further treatment.

The driver Min Prasad and Micheal died on the spot while Khem Raj died during treatment at the hospital, informed police.

The reason behind the accident is not known and an investigation is underway, police said.
