Don’t bypass the constitution, Dahal warns Province 2 CM
Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Co-Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has warned that the Province 2 government’s move to bring Provincial Police Act prior to the Federal Act will invite accident in the country.Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Co-Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has warned that the Province 2 government’s move to bring Provincial Police Act prior to the Federal Act will invite accident in the country.
“Chief Minister Ji, the country will witness accident if you try to overtake the provision of the constitution. Don’t invite accident, I am serious about your demand,” said Dahal, hinting at Province 2 Chief Minister.
He said so while addressing a greeting exchange programme organised in Janakpur on Tuesday.
According to the constitution, the federal government should bring the Police Act first before the Provincial government. He added that the country will invite accident if the provincial government tries to bring the Police Act before the federal government.
“The federal government should bring the Police Act first,” said Dahal, adding, “Bringing the Federal Police Act was delayed because the government remained busy in endorsing other necessary acts related to the fundamental rights. No one can bring the act going beyond the constitutional provision. The move to bypass the constitution would be detrimental.”
He said the Madhes will have to face betrayal if separate Madhesh is formed. “The demands of Madhes will not be addressed through disintegration or if Madhes is separated from Kathmandu,” he added.
Dahal said the disintegration will only fulfill the demands of vested interest groups and enemies.
