Nepal, China sign power grid pact

The agreement says the two parties would conduct the feasibility study of 400kV Kerung-Rasuwagadhi-Galchhi-Ratamate transmission line.
A joint technical committee comprising representatives from both parties would prepare the DPR. It will hire a consultant to conduct the study and submit a report. The Chinese side will perform the lead role in the preparation of the DPR as requested by the NEA.
Only 80km out of the estimated 800-km transmission line lies inside the Nepali territory. The transmission line will extend from Ratamate in Nepal to Shigatse in China. The NEA has already completed the alignment of the power line.
