5 dead, 25 injured in Pyuthan bus accident
At least five persons were killed when a passenger bus veered off a road at Pakuri area of Sarumarani Rural Municipality–4 along the Bhalubang-Pyuthan road section on Sunday.

Police have identified the deceased as Biru Chaudhary, 26 of Mahendranagar, Kanchanpur, Hira Tamata, 16, of Arkha in Gaumukhi Rural Municipality-1, Pyuthan, Sarita Sharma, 26, of Pyuthan, Hari Malla of Rajbara in Gaumukhi Rural Municipality-3 and Sarita Chand of Krishnapur Rural Municipality-2, Kanchanpur.
All the bodies of the deceased, who were dead on the spot, have been brought to Bijuwar-based District Hospital, informed District Police Chief Rajendra Pokharel.
The ill-fated bus (Na 4 Kha 1876) en route to Pyuthan from Mahendranagar of Kanchanpur met with the accident at 3am this morning. The accident has left 25 others injured.
The bus plunged downhill from a cliff at around 3 am this morning killing five passengers on the spot, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rajendra Pokharel of District Police Office, Pyuthan.
Of the 25 passengers who sustained injuries, seriously injured five are receiving treatment in Butwal and other two injured have been rushed to Nepalgunj for further medical treatment. While the rest of the injured passengers, are receiving medical treatment in Bijuwar-based District Hospital.
