CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has been elected in Kathmandu Constituency-2. Nepal defeated his nearest rival Deepak Kuinkel of Nepali Congress (NC) by nearly twice as much votes.
Nepal bagged 27,366 votes against Kuinkel’s 14,900 votes, while Bibeksheel Sajha Party’s Surya Raj Acharya got 7437 votes.
Earlier in the second Constituent Assembly (CA), Nepal had left the constituency after winning from two constituencies. But Kuinkel was elected in the by-election.
