Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Shashanka Koirala has remarked that the leftist alliance wouldn’t affect the NC.

Saying that it is natural to forge working alliance between parties with common ideology ahead of the elections, leader Koirala stressed on the need for strengthening the party organisation and collaborating with democratic forces in the coming election.

Speaking press meeting organised by Press Union Nawalparasi on Wednesday, leader Koirala said that the upcoming elections are important for successful implementation of federal set-up and announced that he will contest the election from Nawalparasi district.

He called on the party cadres to strive for the elections by including programmes as per the aspirations of people and with a clear roadmap for prosperous Nepal.

Meanwhile, around two dozen leaders of Madhes-based political parties including Rastriya Janata Party Nepal central member Bina Kumar Thanet entered the Nepali Congress.  Leader Koirala welcomed the leaders at a programme organised by Kawasoti Municipal Committee.
