UML, Maoist Centre to announce electoral alliance this evening

UML General Secretary Ishwor Pokhrel confirmed that the party will announce their leftist alliance at City Hall at 5 pm today.
Top leaders of both the parties had held a meeting in Lalitpur this morning to discuss the alliance, however, they refrained from disclosing the outcome of the meeting to mediapersons.
According to Pokhrel, both the parties were positive towards party unification during the meeting.
According to a leader privy to the development, UML and Maoist Centre have agreed to share 60/40 seats in Parliament and Provincial assembly.
It is learnt that the parties are also preparing to make public a declaration paper although they won’t be able to share a common election symbol due to technical difficulties.
UML Chariman KP Oli, Vice-Chairman Bam Dev Gautam, Parliamentary Party leader Subas Nembang, General Secretary Pokhrel, Deputy General Secretary Bishnu Poudel and Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, leaders Naryan Kaji Shrestha, Ram Bahadur Thapa and Home Minister Janardhan Sharma were present in the meeting.
