A Kantipur Publications’ staff has died in a flood at Biratnagar Metropolitan City-19 in Morang.
Umesh Nepal, who was associated with the publications’ Biratnagar regional office as a distributor, had gone missing after he was swept away by a flood, triggered by torrential rainfall, at Jhorahat area on Saturday evening.
Police said Umesh’s body was recovered near Baijanath cricket ground on Monday morning. Umesh was with his brother Ramesh, who is also the staff member of the publications, at the time of incident.
Ramesh had avoided being carried away by the flood by holding onto a bamboo post. He was later rescued by security personnel. The body of Umesh was cremated on the bank of Singhiya River on Monday afternoon.
