Floods have thrown life out of gear in various parts of Saptari district. People have been left with nothing but the clothes on their body.
The flood-affected people have been moved to safer places, it is learnt.
The Home Minister on Tuesday informed that the government has started distributing Rs 200,000 each to the kith and kin of those killed in the natural disaster and Rs 10,000 each to family whose house has been destroyed across the country.
The ministry has deployed over 26,000 human resources, including the security personnel Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force (APF), for search and rescue operations.
Seven choppers of the Nepal Army and six helicopters of private companies along with rubber boats and motor boats have been mobilised in the flood-hit areas.
